18 March 2019 marks the date for the fourth annual Chopper Swim Challenge. Brave souls will take to the waters of the Hauraki Gulf swimming 20kms from Waiheke Island to Auckland City to raise funds for the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter.
This 'non' event was put together in 2016 by inspiring members of the community who shared a passion for long distance swimming and, of course, the rescue helicopter.
The Chopper Swim Challenge has so far raised over $200,000.
This event is a dedicated fundraiser for the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter and all participants agree to raise money for this vital service using Everyday Hero.
Chopper Swim Challenge is a fundraising event solely undertaken by private individuals on a volunteer basis. Its sole purpose is to raise funds for the Auckland Westpac Rescue Helicopter (ARHT).
